Friday Favorites

There goes Friday again sneaking up on me… Joining Cynthia and Courtney as usual for the Friday Five where we are all about Favorites. I’m going to go a little random with just a few things I’m loving this week: Friday Favorites

Granola. Has anyone tried this Kashi granola which comes with spelt and flaxseed? I have no words it really is SO good. I’ve been adding it to my yogurt as a snack – in between little nibbles. Kashi Granola

Yoga Cruise. I mentioned in an earlier post I was looking forward to sunset yoga again on the Boomerang Yacht. It was just as good as the first time and so much fun and so much zen. The boat rocked a bit more this time which made warrior 2 challenging πŸ˜‰ but all a part of the ambiance! Thanks to my friend Laura for such an awesome practice. sunset yoga cruise

These pants. A few days ago I met up with a friend for happy hour at the National Harbor. In an effort to beat traffic (unsuccessful) I decided to leave a little early and head to the outlets. There are also good summer sales going on and the Gap was no exception. Gap pants marontherun.comI got these fun pants on clearance for $10. Love a good deal and seriously, how fun are they?! I just had to wear them to yoga the next day. I need new workout clothes like a hole in the head but… can’t pass up a clearance rack!

Rio Olympics, Track and Field. More specifically the Men’s 200m. Naturally I was rooting hard for LaShawn Merritt (who came in 6th but did win Bronze in the 400m) but you just can’t not love Usain Bolt. You just can’t. His little salsa during introductions was hilarious – among other facial expressions throughout the Olympics – but this was one of my favorites for sure. Usain Bolt

Fit Retreat. Not quite a favorite because it hasn’t happened yet BUT I’m excited to head to Philadelphia this weekend for the Fit Retreat led by City Fit Girls. Between yoga, workouts, sessions on running and mindfulness and meditation there seems to be something for everyone! With a pre-registration party complete with cocktails too. What’s not to look forward to?! πŸ™‚

What’s on tap for the weekend? What’s been your favorite part of the Olympics so far (if you’re watching)? Aside from track and field, women’s gymnastics for sure for me! DC Trifecta Friday Five linkup

  1. Hopefully you’ll blog about the Fit Retreat – that sounds really interesting and once I’m done with all of the marathon training, I’d love to try out something like that. I’ve also really enjoyed the Olympics this year, too. Excited to watch the mens marathon (although it’s doubtful I’ll get as emotional as I did for the women’s.)

  2. Those tights are fantastic!! I can’t keep granola in the house. It’s too good! I wish Fit Retreat would have worked out for me — can’t wait to hear about it!

  3. The yoga cruise and the fit retreat sound heavenly. Man, I could sure use that right now! I make my own granola. I used to, then didin’t for years, and started to again recently.

I am really just hoping to survive my long run tomorrow. πŸ™‚

  4. I always love watching fencing and archery. I watched USA win the team bronze in women’s fencing for sabre on Saturday.
I’m loving track and field and I can’t believe it’s almost over. Only 3 more days :-/

  5. Love your tights!
I’m loving the Olympics and can’t get enough of them! Usain Bolt is amazing and I love the energy between he and Andre De Grasse – gotta root for my fellow Canadians πŸ™‚

  6. I love fitness gear bargains – it’s the only time I splurge on clothing when I know it’s a great bargain. As far as the Olympics, I enjoyed gymnastics and swimming. I watched tidbits of the women’s marathon but haven’t been able to keep up with the track and field events. Definitely recording the men’s marathon because I have to watch Meb run! Love the idea of a fitness retreat, I might search for one near Socal.
